Used CD & Vinyl
We buy vinyl. We buy CDs. We pay cash or credit. We want you to bring your stuff to us. This page will tell you all you need to know about how to do it.
Hoodlums allows exchanges on used CDs - so you can try some new stuff without worry.
As lifelong record store customers, we feel qualified to tell you this secret: Buying used is the only way to go. We buy, sell, and trade used CDs, DVDs, and Records. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to take advantage of this secret. Here goes:
Selling CD, DVD, and Vinyl to Hoodlums
Bring your slightly-used CDs and Records to Hoodlums and trade for anything in the store.
- All records, CDs, and DVDs must be in good condition. No scratches, please.
- All buying is done at the store. If you have a very large collection, contact us and we will work with you to figure out a plan (if you live in the Valley… we may be able to pick them up).
- All CDs, DVDs, and Records must be in the original packaging with the original artwork. CDs and DVDs should be in good condition with no scratches (we do pay for some scratched CDs and DVDs, but we pay less). Vinyl must have very good packaging and no scratches.
- Hoodlums pays approximately 50% of an item’s used price in credit; approximately 30% in cash. We say “approximately” because variations can apply based on title.
- We buy all genres. Old and new. Heavy and light. Popular and esoteric. Critically-acclaimed and loved by all. As long as it is in good condition - bring it.

Hoodlums buys, sells, trades, and talks CD and Vinyl. All genres, all types, all eras.
Buying Used CD, DVD, and Vinyl from Hoodlums
- Our used product is in good shape. That’s because rule number one about selling us used (see above) is that the stuff has to be in good condition.
- Used product is generally priced at roughly 60% of the same titles’ price new.
- All used product is fully guaranteed.
- Buy it, try it. All used product can be returned within two weeks (with receipt) for an exchange… even if the reason is that you just don’t like it. We reserve the right to suspend this privilege if you try to take advantage of us (that rarely happens though).
So don’t be shy. Bring in your gently-used Records, CDs and DVDs - and get some new ones.
It’s tough to deny the power of music, eh? Just thinking about these albums as I am putting them on the site makes me want to listen to them.
